Sporting activities at ECU range from social team sports just for fun, all the way through to state competitions such as UniSport.
Through UniSport, students have the opportunity to represent ECU in their chosen sport, not only at a local level, but also in national competitions. Students of all abilities and playing experience are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Some of the events include athletics, swimming, basketball, surfing and cricket – but there are many more!

The University’s fitness centres are located conveniently at ECU Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses, and cater to all fitness levels. ECC students have access to all of the state-of-the-art facilities and classes.
At the centres, you can take advantage of high-quality gym equipment and a team of professional, qualified trainers who can design a personal program for you. Regular group fitness classes are also great for staying on top of your health and fitness goals.
The Joondalup campus centre features the popular ShapeHer gym for women only, and Mount Lawley has a similar female friendly area which provides a safe and supportive environment where women can establish a fitness regime they are comfortable with.
ECC and ECU students also have access to the creche and Kids Holiday Program, so you can benefit from childcare while you work out or study.

We understand that for students, the main reason they are in Australia is to study. However, participating in extracurricular activities and getting out and about is important too. ECC encourages you to interact and enjoy your experience by taking a break from your studies, having some fun and participating in extracurricular activities.
You can join a variety of events, activities and adventures (for example, skydiving and whale watching) organised by numerous clubs and societies in Perth. From recreation to religion, from sport to politics, they cater to every interest.
If you or a group of your friends have a particular interest in an activity that you believe others might be interested in, come by and speak to our Student Counsellor or someone on the student services team, who may be able to help you organise such an outing for you!
